My name is Jade Wilson.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the process of creation. My mother instilled in me an early love of baking and cooking. I learned how to knit, crochet, and cross-stitch before age 10. In my early teens I began delving into calligraphy. I began my formal education in art in high school, and have developed my skills in artistic technique via online and print resources ever since. And in college I discovered the art of spinning yarn.
After I produced my first mural for my mother in 2008, I found a new love. In 2012 I did my first work for a commercial organization, The Fuller House Restaurant and Doc Carver General Store, where I utilized my skills both as a muralist and letterer. In 2014, I decided to go commercial with my work and begin a business, Walls By Wilson, in the Tullahoma, TN, area, and after a move in 2015 I expanded to include the Huntsville, AL, area. After that move, I discovered a new love and a new market in custom cookie decorating.
This blog is part the natural order of events in the creative process: make it, love it, share it. Here, you will find my most recent work and more. You can expect to see my completed work in cookies and murals, tutorials and how-to’s for cookie decorating and fiber arts (knitting and spinning in particular), and possibly more!
I decided to follow my passion and create. I hope this inspires you to follow your passion, too.
